Hair Pullers Anonymous
This is a 12-step support group for adults affected by Trichotillomania. The format is similar to Alcoholics Anonymous, and we use the book Obsessive Compulsive Anonymous (OCA). There is no charge (except the cost of the long distance call). This group meets every Sunday night at 7:00 pm Central time, and every Wednesday night at 8:00 pm, for one hour. Support group for children and adolescents meets 2nd Sunday of each month, 2:00-4:00pm p.m. in Conference Room A, just off the main lobby of Miller Children's Hospital. Parents group meets in the cafeteria. *PLEASE contact facilitator before attending, in order to verify the meeting date and/or time has not changed.*
Leader facilitates discussion while kids make a take-home craft. Parents with H.E.A.R.T. meet simultaneously in the hospital cafeteria, with discussion topics and resources provided by the facilitator.Contact Noelani for additional information or support between meetings. Teens encouraged to contact Noelani to join her e-mail support group, especially if they are unable to attend regularly due to school commitments and driving distance from Long Beach.

From the northbound or southbound 405 freeway to main patient and visitor parking. Exit the freeway at the Atlantic Avenue south off-ramp. Travel south on Atlantic, crossing Spring Street. Just past Columbia Street, look for the well-marked entrance to LBMMC. Turn right to enter the parking area. Bring parking ticket into hospital with you. Parking is approximately $3.00 for 2 hours. Cafeteria is down the escalator/elevator on ground level. Conference rooms are past the large booths toward the back of the cafeteria.

Los Angeles Trich Support Group
This free group is for people ages 18 and older who are living with trichotillomania or skin picking. The group is not therapist-assisted. This is not professional therapy. We follow the standard Trichotillomania Learning Center format of a 'check-in', followed by a general discussion. The group will provide an opportunity for individuals with trichotillomania and skin picking to meet one another and share experiences that have been helpful and not so helpful in living with these symptoms. This method has helped many people gain control of their pulling and picking. Adults only.

Southern California HEART is excited to announce the formation of San Diego HEART. This children's support group is facilitated by SoCal HEART graduate Heather, and the parent group is facilitated by HEART moms Jeanne and Denise, along with Heather's fantastic mom and dad!
San Diego HEART meets every THIRD Sunday of the month--except there will be NO meeting in the month of June. Meetings are 3:00- 4:30pm at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas, California, 354 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024 (take Santa Fe Drive exit off the I-5, free visitor parking in lot behind hospital). The children will meet in Conference Room A and parents will meet next door in Conference Room B. There is no charge. Families will rotate responsibility for bringing refreshments and a hands-on craft for the children each month.

TLC Support Group
TLC Support Group for adult hair pullers and skin pickers. Held weekly at the Santa Cruz TLC office, this home group has been in existence since 1990 (with a brief hiatus). Completely peer-facilitated, it follows the TLC Format and has been a wonderful tool in many people's recovery process. Benefits of group attendance have been increased self-esteem, better behavior management, developing close friends, feeling supported, gaining knowledge, feeling empowered and a sense of community.
